Every time I travel with my family (which includes three children under the age of eight), I see parents using smartphones and tablets to entertain their children… and I am just as guilty. As a parent, I keep a tight reign on “screen time” both for the kids’ benefit and mine – but there are many applications that can provide a bit of education and distraction for them and peace for me.
Dawne and Jordan Weisman are parents with the same idea and the skills to put together an app to match. Go Go Kiddo! delivers “vitamin-fortified fun” to pre-school children through games, stories and humor. Featuring a collection of experiences to keep young children entertained while reinforcing the importance of learning.
The stickerbook within Go Go Kiddo! allows a child to send their artistic creations to a parent’s Facebook page and share it with friends and relatives. There is also a digital greeting card maker so that kids can easily make cards for family and friends that their parents can send via Facebook.
Go Go Kiddo! earns it’s place as an “Editor’s Pick” not just because of what it is now, but what the Weismans promise the future will bring: free updates with additional cartoons, jokes, riddles, and other silliness. The plan is to release new games and activity modules through download or in-app purchase for a small price.
Go Go Kiddo! is available for both Android and iOS for $1.99.
The first spin-off game is now available exclusively for Android, Snow Go Kiddo! has five holiday-themed digital sticker-based activities. Like the original, this app allows parents to send the child’s creation out through Facebook.
Snow Go Kiddo! is available for Android for $1.99.
