New York City seems to have no shortage of ways for the burgeoning technology industry to exhibit their ingenuity. To present first-person, there is the NY Tech Meetup (TECHNOGORILLA will be at the meeting tonight, a full report will follow tomorrow) and for online exposure, the newly released 1eureka.com website has been revived and is again ready to accept submissions. The Manhattan edition of the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) comes to the city in June as part of CE Week and now NYC has its own expo of local start-ups — NY Tech Day looks to provide a “much needed spotlight – enabling them to set up a cool booth to expose their hard work to thousands of early adopters, supporters, prospective employees and investors.”
We expect that NY Tech Day will be a successful event that will promote not only the companies that actually present, but also those who are just getting traction. With that in mind, a competition was announced last week on the NY Tech Day blog for those early stage start-ups — they are encouraged to complete an application (direct link) and the partner companies (including Twilio and DigitalOcean) will select a company (or companies) to receive a free booth. If you are interested in the opportunity, act fast — the deadline is March 16th.
